John possesses a high level of qualifications & experience, with specific reference to the aviation field:
· Diploma of Aviation (Air Traffic Services).
· 11 years actively involved in Air Traffic Control, encompassing experience as Flight Data Officer (Sydney), En-route Sector Controller in radar & non-radar environments (Sydney), Surface Movement Controller & Tower Co-ordinator (Sydney Tower), Aerodrome & Procedural Approach Controller (Albury Tower).
· 12 months as Target Generator Operator (TGO) & Rest of World (ROW) Air Traffic Controller, as training support for the ATCC Melbourne Centre (ATC Capability / Melbourne Training) & related extra curricular projects.
· Aviation & air traffic control consultancy in the development of ICAO aviation English language courses & examinations.
· Holder of a Private Pilot Licence for > 25 years; including Constant Speed Propeller, Retractable Undercarriage & Night VFR endorsements (also incorporating the ‘Flight Radiotelephone Operator Licence’).
· 200+ hours of commercial airliner cockpit travel & operational monitoring.
· Experienced in the design & delivery of training courses & aviation related workshop presentations.
